17 Texas Pride Quotes - Including 6 You Probably Haven't Heard

There's nothing more Texan than...well...being Texan

Texas is so many great things, and its people reflect that. We're recognized the world over for it.

It's no wonder we grow up with strength and pride. Not to be confused with arrogance, our pride is a reflection of a set of values that doesn't waiver. It stays steady, no matter which way the wind blows or how hard.

These Texas pride quotes, together, sum up the pride we all feel

1. "Texas Is The Obsession"

"For all its enormous range of space, climate, and physical appearance, and for all the internal squabbles, contentions, and strivings, Texas has a tight cohesiveness perhaps stronger than any other section of America. Rich, poor, Panhandle, Gulf, city, country, Texas is the obsession, the proper study, and the passionate possession of all Texans." ~John Steinbeck

Texas quote by Rosemary Kent

5. "And I Will Go To Texas"

"You can all go to hell, and I will go to Texas" ~Davy Crockett

Davy Crockett quote: 'You can all go to hell, and I will go to Texas'

Davy Crockett quote: 'You can all go to hell, and I will go to Texas'

Crockett made this promise before leaving Tennesee for Texas. He kept it, too. He ended up at east Texas, and somehow made his way to the Alamo, where he fell along with it.

I don't know if Mr. Crockett was also referring to Texas as heaven. But, if he was, I'd have to agree.

Texas quote by James Michner

My father served on THE USS Texas BB35. Growing up and into my adult life we sang Deep In The Heart Of Texas together. Now I don’t mean any disrespect by thinking myself a son of Texas, but I love it. The older I get the more I see how Texas just makes sense and is so much bigger than just a state. It is my dream to move and retire in Texas but I fear that won’t happen because not working just don’t sit right with me. A person should never stop contributing to the common good. If you don’t have my person you will always have my heart.
    GOD BLESS TEXAS!
From a man just too far north
